A story which explores the core of our human innateness. Where do our instincts come from? Who are we without socialisation? By peeling back the layers of what we believe make us human, we uncover that humans are nature... ... therefore our nature isn't human. Narrative brought to you through the exploration of knit textile making.

Global Creative Graduate Showcase 2024
Inspired by the concept of Human Nature, this project aims to reflect our animalistic nature and instincts through a humorous and fantastical lens. To communicate this theme, I created and illustrated three different children’s book characters with various sets of personalities; The Horse, The Magpie, and The Grumpy Trilobite. By connecting to each character individually, I have treated them as my clients and created textiles and fashion according to what they may wear. By contrasting various colours and textures such as spiked pleats, inlays, fringing, lacework, and wet-felting, this playful storyline is communicated through the art of knitwear and textile.
