About
I work on designs that challenge established norms and promote social justice. I create with integrity, telling authentic stories that invite reflection. My background in sculpture has allowed me to express the stories I want to tell, providing a more emotional and profound form of communication. I aim to address explicit stories while also focusing on the details and needs of everyday life. With each creation, I strive to contribute to a more just and aware world.
ÓRTESIS URBANA seeks to reinvent the urban design of the future, focusing on people and communities. Its goal is to improve social structure and strengthen community networks by adapting public spaces to the specific needs of each group, especially the most vulnerable. The project, initiated in Lavapiés, Madrid—a neighborhood diverse in ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and culture, also affected by gentrification—conducts a thorough analysis to address the needs of its residents. It consists of a participatory circular system that empowers the community, allowing them to decide on their environment and needs. Residents develop job skills through welding and rope-weaving courses while building urban elements for their neighborhood. It uses 100% recyclable materials and local waste and employs communication technologies to amplify its impact, disseminate it, and apply it globally.
