About
I am Zoe Szokalopulosz, a graduate Industrial Designer with a master's degree. I completed both my BA and MA studies at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design.
In Industrial Design, I am particularly drawn to integrating new functionalities into existing objects, applying new technologies, and improving usability. I emphasize showcasing uniqueness, innovative design, and presenting new products in industrial design. Additionally, I have a keen interest in furniture design, interior architecture, and interior decoration.
Over the years, I have participated in several competitions and achieved first place:
- In 2022, I won first place in a competition by MOL where I designed a thermo mug with a graphic pattern for Fresh Corner. The thermo mug is currently available at MOL gas stations.
- A year earlier, I designed a public outdoor furniture piece that won first prize in a competition by Bartók Béla Boulevard.
- In 2022, my poster design titled "The Original is the Real One" also won first place.
- In 2024, the educational toy named Vedoot for children was featured in the 2024 Green Product Award Trend Book. book24 (gp-award.com)page 130.
- Between 2020 and 2021, I interned at S39 Hybrid Design Studio, where I assisted in 3D modeling, design, and prototype development.
- In 2022, I attended a half-year course in interior design, gaining insights into this field.
- During the academic years 2022/2023 and 2023/2024, I received an International Higher Education Scholarship.
In my master work, I focused on extending the longevity of periodically used children's furniture. My goal was to design a multi-generational bed that is not only durable but can also adapt and evolve with a child's growth and development from infancy to young adulthood. The extendable junction solution contributes to increasing the furniture's lifespan without the need for additional legs or supports. It was important for every furniture element to seamlessly integrate into each phase of the bed's transformation. This allows the furniture to be used without additional accessories, eliminating the need to store unnecessary components separately. My goal is to promote an environmentally conscious lifestyle. My mission is to contribute to the children's furniture market by developing timeless and value-creating solutions.
