Zixin is a jewelry designer exploring complex human relationships through their work. In this collection, they use unique design concepts and innovative technology to reflect emotional connections. Fascinated by how physical touch influences relationships, Zixin's work focuses on themes of exploration, connection, and fusion. Their designs aim to replicate the emotional journey from strangers to close friends through jewelry.
This project explores the relationships between people, focusing particularly on my dependence on physical touch. Through deep analysis, I discovered that since childhood, I have relied on physical contact with others. However, not everyone can engage in such contact with me; it is usually limited to close friends and romantic partners. As I grew older and my social circle expanded, I realized that transitioning from strangers to close friends requires exploration and gradual understanding. This process is similar to solving a puzzle, where mutual understanding and interaction lead to gradual discovery. With the deepening of the relationship, natural physical contact emerges. During this journey, there may be moments of incompatibility, but the pieces that ultimately fit together are the ones that are truly compatible, just like the nature of human relationships. I am particularly reliant on the tactile feedback that physical touch provides, as it not only makes me feel safe and warm but also significantly influences the way I connect with others.
