My project is a personal journey in which I designed and created a collection documenting a unique family narrative specific to my own family history. The choice of the bracelet stems from its history as a piece of jewelry that symbolizes prestige and status, while also marking and reflecting the wearer's identity. To embody the family dynamics and the intricate, layered narrative passed down through generations, I created a series of bracelets composed of layers and strata, some visible, some hidden. Together, they unite into a single material and form, representing a family lineage with its culture, history, and blood ties. The bracelets are built from layers of brass that were done with photochemical etching. By using a technique I developed, I folded and rolled these layers together, then compressed them under high pressure to create a solid form. No soldering was involved in this process Instructed By Orina parente and Gillian Golan.
