About

I am a jewelry designer and graduate of the Jewelry Design Department at Shenkar College of Engineering, Design and Art. My creative process usually begins with the material itself. Through making, testing, and observing, I allow ideas and forms to develop.

I have always been drawn to textures, different materials, and the organic forms found in nature. Much of my work is created through hand carved wax, a process that allows me to build sculptural and organic forms directly by hand. This approach is also central to my independent jewelry brand, YAELI Jewelry.

In my work, there is often a dialogue between planning and the behavior of the material, including the unexpected and accidental forms that emerge during the process. I am interested in how material, process, and making can shape the final object, rather than simply serve a predetermined design.

Polytrace explores the relationship between control and randomness in the creative process, examining how surrendering to a material process can become a design tool. Through working with polymers under conditions of heat and pressure, I came to understand that the outcome is not determined solely by my decisions, but is shaped through an ongoing interaction between the goal intention and what unfolds within the process itself. Rather than attempting to control the outcome I chose to allow the process to lead as a way to learn from the behaviors that emerge through the interaction between the material and the technology, and to integrate them as an inseparable part of the design language. In this way, each piece of jewelry emerges from the tension between control and surrender, offering a new way of thinking about the relationship between the maker, the material, and the outcome. Techniques: Repoussé on brass, polymer melting under heat and pressure, Rhino 3D modeling. Materials: Brass, polymers, lace, textile threads, linen.
