Dot the Eye: An Illustrated Guidebook of Chinese Symbols
Dot the Eye is an artbook and basic encyclopedia that details symbolism throughout Chinese history. This work encapsulates my interests in the applications of symbolism and symbols within Chinese culture. As a thesis piece, Dot the Eye is a culmination of my college career as well as an exploration of my own heritage. Using my own knowledge as a starting point, I conceptualized a book that could educate others on imagery that I had grown up around. I also used this piece as a way to better my own knowledge of Chinese iconography. I researched, wrote, illustrated, and designed every aspect of Dot the Eye.
