Hello! I am an art and crafts enthusiast who works at the intersection of handicrafts, art, and product design. Through our rich cultural and material heritage, I learn about my roots and those of humanity.
Re-interpreting Harappan pottery with the Kumbhars of Kachchh.
This project's main objective is to uplift Kumbhars(potters)of Kachchh(Gujarat,India) through interventions at various levels. The project aims at the revival of the craft through the re-interpretation of Harappan pottery, that has close ties with the pottery of Kachchh. Amalgamation of the visual language of harappan pottery into the traditional terracotta craft will result in a novel range of pottery, that will create a new space in the contemporary market. The project was done at an NGO called KHAMIR, that works extensively for the crafts of Kachchh. Guided by : Aman Rupesh Xaxa, Ghatit Laheru, Vikas Gupta.
