About
I am a designer and artist, with a key interest in human centred research, prototyping and speculative design. My background as an artist has allowed me to have a ‘think outside the box’ approach to design challenges.
Trust between man and machine
AI is being integrated in to many medical devices, and it has the power to change the industry. That is why there is a need for design principles for AI, and more specifically principles with how it should interact with people suffering with dementia. The role of my ‘provotype’ (provocative prototype), Memoria, is a reminiscence therapist bot designed to spark the conversations around these principles. It acts as a conversation starter from many different perspectives to explore and critique potential frameworks that could be employed. From the discussions created in this project, I have paved the way for the foundations of these new design principles.
