About
Nova Ma is an Interior Designer and Ceramic Artist based in London. She completed her BA Honours in Interior Design at the University of Edinburgh. Nova is passionate about exploring the impact of space and sensory experiences on individuals, and she is committed to using space and form as a medium for storytelling. Her work focuses on the intricate relationship between humans and their environments, utilizing design to evoke emotional and sensory responses.
During her time in the Master of Interior Design program at the Royal College of Art within the superFutures platform, she experimented with integrating spatial narratives and interactive media, and completed a demo for the game DiverseaRealm2030, a narrative-driven science fiction game that explores neurodiversity experiences. Through this project, Nova seeks to expand the possibilities of design and media, creating immersive experiences that challenge conventional perspectives on interaction and storytelling.
DiverseaRealm is a soft sci-fi narrative about neurodivergent experiences and the impact of media on stereotypes, utilising video games as a medium. It explores themes of neurological drug abuse and society's definitions of normal and abnormal. Inspired by crude hints of reality, it presents an apocalypse of future possibilities. DiverseaRealm aims to create a more inclusive gaming environment that promotes awareness and acceptance of neurodiversity.
