About

My design practice has developed through community engagement and collaboration where I strive to use design to give communities a unique voice and ensure their perspectives are seen and valued.

I have a playful and experimental approach, using meaningful dialogue and a participatory design process that intertwines traditional analogue techniques with digital experimentation and production to produce socio-political work that provokes critical thinking, sparks dialogue, and inspires positive social change.

I am a recent graduate of UAL with a BA Hons in Graphic Design, 1st class. During my last year of university I chose my dissertation title and research theme, Social Design and Community Engagement: Cohering communities through visual creativity. I am keen to explore how artists and designers can impact individuals and communities using design, connecting, and developing relationships through the learning of making and designing.

'Our Crofton Type' explores how creative workshops can strengthen and amplify the collective voices of a community. Residents of Crofton Road participated in workshops to co-design a typeface for their street identity. We discussed things they care about and concerns to generate messages for typographic posters, which they printed using their font. In response, I developed their words and illustrations as a set of posters and banners for street decoration. Collaboration in design brought this community together through shared experiences, resulting in tangible creative works used to project our voices in the public realm.
