About

I’m an interdisciplinary textile and product designer and in my work, I analyse the current use of objects and seek new design perspectives. In addition to classic material and product development, my focus lies on circular and regenerative aspects as well as the socio-cultural context of design.

In Germany tonnes of raw wool are produced as a waste product, as the fibres are too coarse for clothing. However, coarse wool can be used as an excellent upholstery material, as its fibres have a special bounce. Therefore, it could be used as an alternative to oil-based foams. The Mono Wool cover is a 3D knitted structure with hollow spaces, filled with wool and then folded into a seat shell. Thanks to the 3D knitting technology, the upholstery fabric can be extracted by the machine as a finished part, eliminating the need for manual work-intensive processing steps. Mono Wool is a 100% wool upholstery – designed to be local, recyclable and socially responsible.
