About
My name is Marica Bove and I am 23 years old. I am a young womenswear designer, recently graduated from NABA - New Academy of Fine Arts.
My works are based on the concept of ageing materials. I mainly work with genuine leather, exploiting its "imperfections" which are special to me, but also with aged metal accessories such as buttons or buckles.
The design of my final collection “Rimor mortis” starts from a study of cults and beliefs in the Middle Ages. This leads to a thorough analysis of medieval clothing, source of inspiration for shapes and textures - with the irregularities of raw fabrics such as boiled wool and canvas - and materials - such as leather and metals, that undergo an ageing process.To this historical research, I added a personal iconographic research that characterizes the aesthetic of the collection.
