About

With a focus on the surreal and gothic my work is inspired by literature and film. I am a visual communicator and creative writer with an interest in design that is both accessible and interesting. During my final year at Northumbria University, where I studied Fashion Communication, I have written a collection of short stories and a novella. These include themes of melancholy, daydreaming, and body horror.

I am currently getting into film and photography with aspirations to direct.

Make-a-shoe: Size? x new balance

The Size? X New Balance brief was all about creating a campaign that marketed the New Balance: Made in UK shoes to a Size? customer. For this live brief, I created a game titled 'Make-A-Shoe' inspired by vintage video games. I illustrated mock-up stills for the potential character designs, game intro and challenges. I came up with a storyline for the game that aligned with the brand values, and a giveaway idea for players. This project was nominated for a digital fashion award at Graduate Fashion Week 2023.

A Product of Mother is a gothic novella. It follows two disturbed characters as they meet and begin a relationship. Set in a pre-digital age, body modification is illegal but for a select few an erotic display of humanness. The story begins with one of the characters escaping from entrapment, lost in the big city, he meets a girl who is es c aping her own form of capture. They explore each other ’s insides and discuss love. All is well until the past catches up to them, and the truth must be confronted. This novella is designed consciously with photography littered throughout to add to and disrupt from the narrative. The inspiration for the novella comes from gothic s ci-fi like Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and the surreal.

barking in the backyard zine

Barking in the Backyard Zine is a collection of short stories that I wrote as one of my final year major projects. I presented the stories alongside some of my photography, old and new that was then heavily edited to distort. Inspired by surrealism I let my unconscious lead the stories., letting them take me where they wanted to take me. Heavy connections to the melancholic, unreality and the natural world.
