About

Studio Loupluslou, founded by Louise Zanartu and Louis Boudart, two passionate designers and artists from Paris and Brussels. It began as a shared dream in the vibrant city of Barcelona. Their meeting was sparked by a mutual love of design and art, igniting a collaborative vision that transcends traditional boundaries, bringing chimeric sculptures to life.

Louise, born in France in 1997, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law & Philosophy from the University of Kent, a Bachelor’s degree in Product Design from IED Instituto Europeo di Design Barcelona, and a Master’s degree in Beyond Product(s) from Elisava Barcelona School of Design and Engineering, part of the Universitat de Vic – Universitat Central de Catalunya (2024). Louis, born in Belgium in 1999, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the VUB Vrije Universiteit Brussel, followed by a Master’s degree in Beyond Product(s) from Elisava Barcelona School of Design and Engineering (2024).

Their creations, a seamless blend of functionality and artistry, aim to transport the viewer into a world where imagination reigns. Louise and Louis craft living organism-like beings and sculptures that seem poised to move through spaces, challenging perceptions and inspiring a sense of wonder.

Committed to using locally sourced and upcycled materials, through their work Studio Loupluslou engages in a dialogue about contemporary industrial society, emphasizing the value of craftsmanship and heritage. Their art merges these elements, creating pieces that resonate with the organic forms, movement, and textures of the natural world.

Studio Loupluslou’s mission is to craft tools for imagination. They invite viewers to interact with their creations, encouraging a personal journey of imagination and reaction, fostering a deeper connection to the creative potential within us all.

Our society stands on the brink of a new epoch, where traditions and cultural heritage are fading amid digitalization and industrialization. Sheep herding and natural raw wool are undervalued today. Our project addresses this shift, reflecting on the diminishing value of natural resources and pastoral practices. We created large metal sculptures incorporating raw wool, sourced from José, a local shepherd in Catalunya. The movable, detachable sculptures were created through cutting, welding, oxidizing, and sanding to achieve an organic texture. Our project sparks conversations on sustainability and cultural preservation, challenging society to reevaluate the worth of natural resources and traditional practices.
