About

I am a hardworking and dedicated individual, currently completing my undergraduate degree at Arts University Bournemouth. I am a print based textiles designer, focusing on dyeing, handprint and digital print. Using techniques such as Devore and discharge, I take inspiration from natural and organic imagery, focusing on bright but sophisticated colour palettes. Designing for high end womenswear, I am focused on progressing my drawing skills to create beautiful fashion fabrics using a combination of these skills.

'Into The Jungle' is a collection inspired by a tropical jungle setting wherein I have used a vibrant colour palette for my drawings and print designs. Translating my drawings of marks and textures through screen printing, I have combined these with bold digital prints that represent jungle patterns and motifs. Combining handprint techniques such as Devore and dyeing, alongside digital print methods, I have produced a collection intended for a Women's Spring Summer high end target market. My love of animal print, colour and organic themes inspired this collection as I feel I work best with natural imagery. Through researching into designers such as Dolce and Gabbana and Roberto Cavalli, I have taken influence and inspiration for my busy and bold prints, also looking into a sustainability aspect when it comes to dye wastage and how animal print can be replicated in high end fashion without harming animals, such as using organic and recycled materials. I, myself, have focused on reusing fabric from previous projects and sourcing/sharing deadstock fabric with peers where possible, as well as reusing the same dye baths so as to not contribute to dye waste. Throughout this project I have continued building on my drawing skills to aid my maximalist style when it comes to digital print designs and my overall collection. Winged Whispers explores the beauty of winged insects through their patterns and textures. Using a combination of hand print processes such as Devore and discharge, hand dyeing, digital print and laser etching I produced a collection intended for an Autumn Winter high end womenswear target market. Throughout this project I focused on refining my drawing skills to aid my digital print designs, leading to a collection of beautiful fashion fabrics.

Taking inspiration from fruit markets, 'At The Market' helped me narrow down and refine the skills I wanted to pursue throughout the rest of my degree. Using a combination of screen printing, digital print and machine knit, I produced a beachwear and accessories collection intended for a Spring Summer high end womenswear market.
