Imran Alifu is an aspiring Uyghur fashion designer, dedicated to celebrating underrepresented cultures through his work. A recent graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) with a degree in Fashion Design, Imran’s creative journey is deeply rooted in his heritage and a commitment to sustainability. His designs are a fusion of traditional influences and contemporary design, emphasizing multifunctional garments that offer versatility and timeless appeal.
Imran’s senior collection, "The Song of Heroes," was featured on Vogue Runway, showcasing his ability to merge storytelling with fashion. His work has garnered attention for its meticulous craftsmanship, innovative use of materials, and cultural resonance.
Imran’s passion for visual storytelling extends beyond fashion, as he took creative control over his lookbook and fashion film, collaborating with a musician from his hometown to create an immersive experience.
In "The Song of Heroes," my designs fuse the "New Romantic" era’s diverse characters with my Uyghur heritage. This collection reimagines ancient armor, blending traditional elements with contemporary fashion. Each piece tells a story of cultural pride and social representation, reflecting my personal experiences and artistic vision. It’s a celebration of past traditions, present creativity, and future possibilities.
