Course / Program Title: Fashion, Clothing and Textile Design MA
Currently finishing my MA studies in Fashion at Aalto University. Next to my studies I have experiences with working in fashion styling and graphic design. When it comes to design and creative thinking I tend to build my designs on technical knowledge which serves as a tool in creative exploration. I am challenge driven and constantly in the search of anew.
The materiality of garments has always been the most important aspect of clothing to me. I find creating endless variations and experimenting most exciting and rewarding. My collection, PLANIKA, reflects my personal identity and design interests, exploring how personal history and cultural heritage shape my work. Inspired by nostalgia, I developed my own knitted textiles as a central part of the collection, collaborating with Pinori Filati to craft a unique color palette and textures. Parallel to knitwear is a 3D-printed cord stopper that shapes cords into flower-like forms, using them as “garment construction maps” to guide the three-dimensionality and structure of the garment pieces.
