Specialised in Integrated Digital Practice, I am extremely skilled in Digital Embroidery, Jacquard, 3D printing and other techniques and programmes. I am highly skilled in Adobe suite, Blender, Wilcom and Scotweave.
My main qualification being in Textiles means that my knowledge of fabric, colour palettes, mood-board creation, sourcing, concept building, materials, and trend research are all incredibly strong. But my semester abroad studying fashion is what I believe really sets me apart from others. I have the core skills of pattern cutting and manipulation, industrial machine sewing, garment construction, trade, and fashion sketches that couples with everything that I have learned in my Textiles degree.
I have a strong interest in sustainability, natural fabrics and biodegradability within my practice. I love natural dyeing, working with threads like Lyocell and fabrics that are made of biodegradable materials.
Hiking has always been a major part of my life. My parents met in a hiking group, I was hiking before I could walk, however hasn’t always been a passion of mine. When I was a teenager, I'd rebel against hiking by wearing the most impractical clothing I could think of. This has been realised in the concept of this collection. It is a high fashion fusion, suitable for hiking through materials, but the garments are impractical in the way they are designed. The materials used for this collection will all completely biodegrade at some point in the future, and the base material of the collection is wool, inspired by and utilising the qualities of the sheep that live on Exmoor, near where I hike. You could send it down a runway aesthetically. You could also send it up a hill and the materials would work.
