About
My name is Chiara and I ‘m 25 years old. I have had a passion for art since I was a child. Encouraged by my seamstress mother, I began studying in the fashion field by attending the G. Palizzi Art School in Lanciano. After graduating I continued my studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome with which I had the opportunity to be selected to participate in the Altaroma 2021 fashion show during the Roman Fashion Week. And then i won a scholarship at the NABA in Milan where he attended the two-year specialist course in Fashion & Textile design.
In this school I was fascinated by the many textile methods that exist to create garments and fabrics. I became passionate about both machine and hand embroidery and digital printing but above all silk-screen printing, experimenting with different techniques, for example the pad printing technique
In difficult times like the pandemic, where life was less hectic, I stayed
fascinated by the sense of freedom transmitted by the clouds and by the special effects caused by nature, thus finding inspiration for my project which takes its name from the Latin "Fasmate".
Fasmate refers to illusory cloud formations, produced by the effects of light from the sun and moon.
It is a project that tries to revive the childish part that hides in an adult and return to that period of carefreeness by rediscovering the simplicity and purity which are among the values of human life that only the child still seems to have.
Generazioni intrecciate
"Generazioni Intrecciate" draws inspiration from the lives of my grandparents, exploring their stories and experiences. I was inspired by the poverty and emigration of the 1960s, events that profoundly impacted my grandparents' lives. I chose to maintain ample volumes for the coats as if they were meant to hide someone, and I referenced sustainability by using recycled fabrics, natural dyes like coffee, and exclusively adopting buttons. Additionally, I decided to continue this story by involving companies such as Kent and Manteco. This collaboration allowed me to ensure the highest representation of materials like wool and silk in my collection, thanks also to the partnership with the brand Hemineinai. The choice of the "Presentosa" as an embroidery symbolizes a connection to one's home, but it has been reworked to bring to light both the old and the new, allowing us to look forward without ever forgetting where we come from.
