About

I am a Franco-British student in my second of the HND Jewellery and Silversmithing course at the Jewellery School of Birmingham. My work is mainly focused on designing pieces that I then CAD and stone set myself. I am deeply inspired by Architecture and organic shapes. My final pieces came from a need to inform about the urgent climate situation, and especially the water rising problem. I wanted to represent a city easily recognisable, Amsterdam, and show the threat that is on the horizon of this city known for its history and open-mindedness. I chose five different buildings that show what we would lose with climate change, our history and freedom.

These pieces represent the rising sea-level problem. By representing Amsterdam, a city known for its architecture, I knew that it would be easily recognisable and grab people’s attention. Amsterdam is threatened by the rising sea-level caused by climate change. The buildings chosen represent what we are going to lose in the near future because of climate change: history and freedom. The bead setting and the crystal bands show the rising sea-level problem and the effect it has on the buildings.
