The project “Changeable Reflective Textiles” contributes to the field of high-visible Jacquard woven fabrics. The double-woven fabrics consist of reflective yarns which are not visible on the outside of the fabric. The reflective material is woven into the fabrics with a different pattern than the patterns that are visible on the outside of the fabrics. The reflective pattern will only become visible when the fabric is exposed to an external light source like a car light or flashlight. This makes it possible to show dual expressions in fabrics depending on the environment in which the fabric is placed. The work is designed to create more awareness of being visible in the dark. It shows the possibility of hiding and showing patterns and materials completely while the reflective materials still holds its function of protecting the wearer.
