About
My name is Finn Gilbert and I am an activist and photographer based in Baltimore Maryland. The stories and images that I am collecting is my way to help society fight for the basic right of healthcare. Though the people in the stories all come from different backgrounds, they share one thing in common. They have been affected by the careless health system. And they all ask one important question: “What are YOU going to do?”
My project combines portrait photography and storytelling to share life-changing personal stories of people trapped by the imbalance of healthcare systems and economics. The photographs will be shown in private (gallery) and public spaces where healthcare professionals work and recover during the workday. The QR codes can also be accessed by hospital patients seeking care or those who are simply curious. The stories can be accessed via the QR codes that are placed in vital areas. A website titled What Am I Going to do? will lead viewers to web pages that contain recorded stories and portraits.
