Nikoletta Jonkisz is a BA Hons Fashion graduate specialising in womenswear, print, textiles manipulation and product development. In her work she focuses on developing a range of outcomes that explore a balance between elements of design interest and function. Inspiration is sourced from a range of varied research methods with a particular interest in existing archival garments and patterns.
A contemporary interpretation of military uniforms formed through the referencing of authentic uniforms, camouflage and media exploring themes of military. The collection carries traditional and contrastingly exaggerated elements; colour variations in print and military details that are manipulated across the body. Menswear garment blocks and references have been transformed into garments designed with women in mind. Traditional dress practice within military is emphasized and challenged through textile development; methods displayed are used to create intentional creases subverting the clean, tidy appearance.
