Inspired by the radical societal changes of the 1920s and the notion of forbidden love between women, this collection emerges as an artistic statement. The silhouettes conceal the body, serving as a metaphor for the women who had to hide their feelings from a world that was often hostile. The collection pays homage to the courage of those who dared to embrace their authentic selves. Unique hand-painted, printed, and hand-cut fabrics are fashioned into dramatic looks. Eclectic and sometimes surreal references abound, from the Lover's Eye emblems to the curvaceous lines of New York's iconic Chrysler Building. The intriguing work of painter Fatima Ronquillo also surfaces as an inspiration.
