About
My vision lies in the creation of distinctive and marvelous art pieces. Fashion design has given me the platform to bring my vision to life and share it with the world. Experimenting and taking fearless risks with fabrics, silhouettes, technical designs, and construction has helped me to advance my skills and has continued to pave a beautiful journey about self realization. I want to portray inspirational stories through my designs and about my philosophy of perfection lying in the absolute imperfect things.
How sustainable is sustainable? My project, "Solid Core", can answer that for you. The inspiration comes from my family’s rice factory in India with the tagline "Evolving Responsibly". Production from sourcing the raw materials to the packaging is done by keeping sustainability and the environment in mind. Steam is used instead of coal in production and the leftover rice husk and oil are sent to paper and oil factories for utilization. I got my silhouettes from the interior and exterior of the facility and the machinery used in it. My designs speak of utility and comfort with a classy and chic edge. The fabrics sourced were deadstock natural fiber fabrics such as linen, jute, and OKEO Tex cotton.
