About

My name is Daisy Mulcahy and I have studied Textiles and surface design for the past 3 years at BA Hons level at The Northern school of art. I believe my passion for creativity has came from my own travelling experiences and seeing wide ranges of vibrant, exciting cultures and wanting to feel that at home. My design work begins with traditional processes such as, hand painting, screen printing, drawing etc. Then with the use of CAD, developed further and printed digitally. Hand painted brush strokes, waterlines and textures are nearly always evident within my work along with a strong, vibrant, partnered colour palette.

My name is Daisy Mulcahy and I live in Hartlepool, England. I have studied textiles and surface design for 3 years at BA Hons level at the Northern School of Art. I believe my passion for creativity has come from my life of travelling and experiencing a wide range of cultures and wanting to experience the same vibrancy back home. My design work begins with traditional processes, such as hand painting, screen printing, drawing etc. Then with the use of CAD developed further and printed digitally. The hand-painted brush strokes, waterlines and textures are nearly always evident within my work along with a strong, vibrant, well-partnered colour palette. Siam serenity is a design concept aiming to create a culturally rich ambience, celebrating the beauty and tranquillity of Thailand. A captivating concept inspired by the serene beauty and cultural heritage of Thailand. The development of my designs included drawing from my primary images from my Thailand trips including natural landscapes, lush greenery, and exotic flora and further developing them using CAD. Using an immersive colour palette featuring emerald greens, deep blues and muted earthy tones, contrasted with accents of rich red, vibrant pinks, and orange to evoke the vibrancy of Thai culture. I want my designs to provide a connection to the feeling of travelling around Thailand, from the tropical beaches, and the tranquil temples, to vibrant Bangkok when the sun goes down. My designs are aimed at the luxury high-summer resort womenswear market.
