This womenswear printed textiles collection ‘Moiré’, takes inspiration from modern architecture and otherworldly forms. The collection aims to give body to a medium so often thought of as two dimensional, through a multitude of different ways, utilising Optical illusion, contrasts between vivid and tonal colour, fabric manipulation and repeated prints. The collection takes inspiration from Architecture on a mass scale and Volume, aiming to achieve the power from modern architecture bringing a mass presence with a dainty finish. The collaboration between mass and daintiness is envisioned for the wearer to be overtaken by the fabrics as if there is a huge presence on tiny bodies. The fabrics used within the collection represent the volume and mass of modern architecture through heavier fabrics such as silk satins, sandwashed silks and unconventional fabrics such as corduroys combined with more delicate fabrics such as silk chiffons and striped silks.
