About

Hi!My name is  Adelaide, and I am  Portuguese. I am a Fashion Design student, at Nottingham Trent University, who moved to the United Kingdom to study and achieve a better future.  Expressing myself creatively is an important thing in my life, that no one can take away from me. I am not just passionate about fashion, but arts and photography. Ever since I was very young, I have dreamed of traveling around the world doing something I love. I want to expand my knowledge, visit different cultures, and learn from people directly related to the global fashion industry.

My name is Adelaide, and I am very excited to present my MA Final Project. It is an exploration of photographs, arts, and objects which trap moments in time of people I have never met. By looking into my Portuguese heritage and culture, my family's old photographs, and items from my mum’s wardrobe, I have embarked on a creative journey to reconnect with my roots and bring their essence into contemporary fashion. Growing up painting in my grandmother’s house and trying to graffiti a heart on her garage wall, art is something that has always been a part of me. Using bull denim as my primary material, I have designed pieces that can be dyed, painted, and personalized, making each garment a unique piece of art. A unique aspect of my project is the use of projection mapping, allowing individuals to visualize their personalized designs before committing to them. This interactive element enhances the creative process and bridges the gap between fashion, technology, and sustainability.
