About

Gemma is an Industrial Design BA graduate from ELISAVA Barcelona School of Design and Engineering. With a passion for creating she started playing with the thought of being a designer already in her childhood. Now, as she completes her academic journey, she is eager to channel that enthusiasm into real-world projects. Gemma aims to craft objects and concepts with compelling narratives. She thrives on research and identifying opportunities, deeply engaging in projects that demand both creative thinking and practical problem-solving skills. From conceptualization to execution and communication, she values teamwork and collaboration, constantly drawing inspiration from those around her.

lampo, light that works with you

The way we perceive the spaces where we work and live has changed drastically. Now they are much more complex and fluid, and the objects within them go beyond simple connections between people and space. Digital work is one of the major societal changes caused by the prevalence and continuous adoption of digital technologies. Its potential lies in the freedom of movement; this ubiquity frees us from location and time constraints but at the same time requires constant availability of charging and connectivity. This project approaches this fact and exponential trend to create a portable element that provides charging and light as an essential synthesis of what the modern workplace represents. An agile element that allows working anywhere and becomes a necessary companion. The ultimate goal is to innovate in a soft-tech and timeless product without losing Kettal’s sensitivity and to make the battery element a deliberately designed object.
