Lily is a recent first-class graduate from Bath Spa University having studied BA (Hons) Textile Design for Fashion and Interiors specialising in knit. She has a playful, fun and eclectic approach to knitwear design, experimenting with structural and textural techniques alongside graphic imagery and text on both Dubied and domestic knit machines. The eccentricities of human nature, from conversations and folklore to collecting old or pretty things, are a constant source of inspiration for her sideways approach to contemporary textile design.
Don't be silly, blow out the candles and celebrate for celebration's sake! Finding ways to celebrate the little things, or even just nothing at all to bring some joy, colour and cake into daily life drew me to the concept of unbirthdays, the perfect excuse for anyone to celebrate on 364 days of the year. The project is a humorous and slightly sarcastic take on the iconic traditional birthday party, with bright colours, stacks of sandwiches and of course, cake!
