I am Jinwon Kim, and I graduated from AMFI in Fashion Design department in 2024.
Flowing and blooming in uncertainty
After seeing Janicesung's drawing called 'The Abyss,' I started thinking about why it was named that way. I looked up the word 'Abyss,' which usually means the very deep parts of the ocean that are hard to understand. I wondered if this idea could be related to deeper problems in society. In today's world, things are changing quickly because of new technology, big events around the world, and how people's ideas are changing. Young people, like me, often feel unsure about what's going to happen. I think of these ‘uncertainties’ as facing big challenges in life. Even though it's frustrating, we keep going and show how strong and determined we are. Sometimes when we fail, it helps us learn and become stronger. I compare this to the ‘lotus flower’, which grows in murky water but still looks beautiful and strong. It shows how we can be strong and grow, even when things are hard. Like the lotus flower, young people can overcome tough situations and change for the better.
