As a photographer deeply influenced and inspired by traditional Chinese art, my work combines classical elegance with contemporary creativity. l believe that my cultural background gives me a unique aesthetic, which allows me to have my own unique style.At the same time, based on my strong interest in handicrafts since childhood, l love making photos myself, including a series of alternative processes or films. l always believe that photos made by myself are unique and have a personal touch.
"Far from the Sea" is a wet plate photography project where I capture portraits of a new generation of Chinese immigrants. Each subject brings an item they first brought to America and wears clothing that holds deep personal significance. Through these portraits, the project delves into their cultural identity, exploring how they navigate their heritage and the new environment. This project reflects on the connection between their past and present, offering a visual narrative of their unique experiences and the symbols of their journey.
