About
I'm a design for textiles graduate from heriot watt, specialised in knit. I am passionate about the therapeutic abilities of textiles and how design can be used to improve mental health and highlight issues within our society.
Enveloped in joy is a knitwear collection that explores joy, through the use of colour and texture, grounded in art therapy principles the as a statement that mental health should be prioritised over societal pressures for productivity. The collection aims to highlight emotion and the wellbeing benefits that are greatly connected to the making process. The imagery and motifs focused around my ‘happy place’ the beach which inform pattern and texture while the colour palette is bright and bold to spark joy, using slow handcrafted techniques for its therapeutic capabilities of textiles making. Domestic knitting machines offer intuitive techniques paired with hand stitching to add individuality and excitement to the collection
