This project was motivated by my blurred memory of birth place. With the rapid progression of society, globalization caused a process of homogenization on people or objects. Consequently, the bond between people and their origins is progressively diminishing, and local ethnic diversity is also vanishing. In oder to explore my cultural background, I am trying to rebuild the lost memories of my birthplace characteristics, relying on my fragmented reminiscences and research. The key words about this project is about merge and contrast. The aim of this project is to integrate traditional craftsmanship into the contemporary social context. And trying to pass on and perpetuate the local cultural identity through my experiences and abilities. The pattern of this project use earthy texture of the local landscape and mountains as a starting point. Cooperating with ethnicity outfit, traditional etles craft and islamic geometry pattern elements that represent the cultural identity of the local area. Digital embroidery is the main technique for whole project. combine with macrame, pleating, dye and beading techniques to reflect the merge and contrast between traditional and contamporary.
