About
I am a Pakistani designer aiming to create interior spaces with the occupants at the heart of the design. My focus lies in curating spaces which ensure the psychological wellbeing of the users, looking at evidence-based design to hand-pick every element. I use a multitude of techniques such as hand sketching, digital renderings, and 3D visualization during the design process. Often my work sees inspiration from Scandinavian design, with a minimal color palette, and a focus on nature. Although I do love residential design and designing homes that bring comfort to people, I am incredibly interested in many specializations of interior design - from F&B to retail!
azadi - an empowerment center for the battered women of Baluchistan
AZADI, meaning "Freedom" or "Liberty" in Urdu, is an empowerment project based in Baluchistan, a province in Pakistan. It focuses on providing financial independence, empowerment, and a sanctuary to the battered women of Baluchistan through promoting social interaction, skill building, and relaxation. AZADI has a few key spaces: the marketplace, workshops, central social space, and the sound immersive room. In the workshops, women are able to learn traditional handicraft skills, and sell their products in the center's marketplace, which is connected to a mall. The central social space is a designated women only area where users can share experiences, and form bonds. The sound immersive room is a zen space, with natural auditory features and comfortable seating to allow for relaxation.
