About

My name is Haotang Sun, and I am from China. As an aspiring designer, I am deeply passionate about art and design. My journey in design began with a profound love for painting and crafts, which led me to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Furniture Design at Birmingham City University (BCU) in the UK. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I honed my skills, delving deep into the field of furniture design, and developed a keen eye for detail and a strong sense of aesthetics. I also possess knowledge in painting, ceramics, product design, and furniture design. Eager to broaden my horizons and further explore the complexities of design, I pursued a Master's degree in Product Design at the Royal College of Art (RCA). This transformative experience provided me with invaluable insights into the multifaceted nature of design.

My project utilize the oxygen produced by algae balls for air purification. The algae absorb carbon dioxide and generate oxygen. Water flows over the algae balls at the top, into a storage tank below, and is pumped back up, creating a continuous circulation system. The primary goal of my project is to purify the air by increasing the oxygen level on top of the existing indoor oxygen content. Additionally, my project is not solely about air purification; the white noise emitted by the water recycling unit can also help alleviate negative emotions and improve concentration. My project aims to enhance indoor air quality for a healthier living environment, addressing the decline in indoor air quality and the increased time spent indoors.
