About
I’m Bailey Musnicki and I am a 22 year old designer from Chicago, IL. My lifelong love of fashion and the arts led me to the Savannah College of Art and Design, where I have recently graduated with a major in Fashion Design and a minor in Art History. I have a fairly eclectic design language, which is further pushed by the spontaneous inspiration that I find in my daily life. My design process is very research-heavy in order to better understand what, why, and who I am designing for. Within my fashion work, I am always additionally pushed by the concepts of sustainability, accessibility, and innovation. Being a part of the new generation of designers, it is imperative to design with these ideas in mind.
AI vs the Artist is a bold, neon collection that plays with the distortions from AI and the consequences of technology on art. These garments look into the human messages lost through the wide spreading usage of Artificial Intelligence. Taking inspiration from famous female artists, my collection reveals the depth of human art when compared to the artificiality present in the generated creations. Every aspect that AI glitched out and got wrong became a feature of my collection. This is shown through the layering of nonsensical text patterns, "glitched" seams, and distorted silhouettes.
