ABOUT BEAUTY FOR A BETTER WORLD

BFAW is launched by social activist Ninette Murk, who is the founder of the global successful campaigns of Designers Against Aids, that for 15 years collaborated with brands such as H&M, Eastpak, Marc Jacobs, Essentiel Antwerp and more to raise awareness about how to use pop culture and creative collaborations with fashion designers, brands and pop/rock stars to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS.

Inspired by the need to turn the negative of the pandemic isolation into an opportunity for expressing your creativity, Ninette has - with an international team of likeminded professionals in Antwerp, London, Berlin, New York City, Mexico City, Geneva and Los Angeles - launched the BFBW collaborative art platform.

The Beauty for a Better World Team includes Ninette Murk (creative director), Jens Laugesen (editor and creative advisor), Alex Hidalgo (social media manager), Kenneth Ramaekers (curator), Sean Black (photographer and educator), Giel Domen (photographer), Jan Van Mol (Addictlab/SDG Zine), Katie Dominy & Alex Brownless (ARTSTHREAD), Pablo Aguilera (strategic partnerships), Luc Van Malderen and Tom Van Wint (webdesign and programming), Carl Navarro (Recess Assembly), Kym Nelson (writer) and Steve Salter (journalist).
