About
I am skilled in creating clear and detailed technical sketches for garments, as well as in collecting and selecting fabrics and accessories. I have a strong sense of aesthetics and a keen fashion sensitivity.
Additionally, I excel at identifying and gathering insights on the preferences and consumer behaviors of different demographic groups. Through emotional connections with garments, I explore the transition from 2D to 3D designs. I also possess practical hands-on skills and strong organizational abilities.
The seed of this collection grew while listening to the melancholic purity of Armenian music. It made me think of the documentary 'Coda' by Ryuichi Sakamoto where he plays ambient and soothing music on a broken piano which had been submerged under water after the Japanese tsunami of 2011 and had, in his words, been "re-tuned by nature". My research compared the inner workings of a damaged piano with that of a dented soul which I contrasted with elements of Armenian costume. Through my fabric choices and cutting techniques, I hope to have achieved clothing that has an emotional connection with the wearer and is similarly atmospheric, gentle and relaxing.
