About
I create and use textile as a tool to interpret my ideas. My work considers communication and interaction working with new/alternative media including edible and sustainable materials using craft methods from hand to digital/ machine. By taking math and science as guides, my recent work explores issues surrounding everyday life to rethink both environmental and social aspects. I’m very passionate about new ways of thinking and working with people globally.
Nonsense makes sense when you’re hungry (2023) texturises a glitch in food to identify (human+other than human) behaviours of communication/interaction with particular manipulation using knitting and as guide of mathematical theorems; graph theory and Quaternion. This is a multisensory experience through knitted textiles made with edible and inedible materials. From collecting food anecdotes; leftover food on street (food waste) to serving the transformation of data collection, this complex/chaos entanglement re-informs to navigate what everyday life is. Participants who join this experience eat and digest with an instruction to navigate their nourishment: introduce the research; the leftovers into their bodies.
