About
I am a product designer and trained dental technician based in Düsseldorf. My work is guided by a strong sense of responsibility. Rather than designing new products from virgin materials that add to the strain on our environment, I focus on working with existing resources and finding ways to integrate them into more balanced systems.
Through an interdisciplinary, experimental approach, I explore the potential of bio-based materials and develop new ways to transform them into functional applications. Paired with a minimalist design language, this results in solutions that create value both for everyday life and for the environment.
Every year, large quantities of seagrass wash up on beaches, where it is usually seen as a nuisance for tourism and a disposal problem. Yet in the ocean, it plays a vital role in supporting biodiversity and storing CO2 . When dried, its flame-retardant, mold-resistant, and sound-absorbing properties make it a valuable resource. To draw more attention to seagrass in interior spaces, I used Zostera marina, a species of seagrass native to the Baltic Sea, to create an acoustic room divider with movable elements. Made from a mixture of natural glue and seagrass, it is fully compostable, while its anodized aluminium frame fits into existing recycling cycles.
