Olumba’s studies on cognitive immobility provide language for the pull of reconstructed memories, a looping archive of glorified experiences that comforts while distorting reality. The result is a warped past, stolen moments in the present, and shifted expectations of the future. Structured outerwear, manipulated familiar forms, and material that contains memory, translate psychological paralysis into tactile form and embody nostalgia’s weight, safety, and quiet suffocation within garments that hold memory close.
