About
“I Am the Secretary” explores the secretary as a charged feminine figure: orderly, charming, seemingly obedient, yet carrying within her desires for freedom and resistance. The work begins with a small childhood memory, where the rules of the game are exposed through a
role assigned to a girl from the outside: the secretary. Beneath the polished order, small cracks appear–childish gestures that make room for an identity formed between the rules and what remains unsaid.
The collection reworks the visual language of the office through tailoring, rich textiles, transparency and exposed details. My background in Computer Science comes through most clearly in the shoes, developed through 3D modelling and additive manufacturing. A stainless-steel heel inspired by a paper clip becomes the shoe’s structural core, with the upper and sole attached by screws to create a modular construction.
As part of *I Am the Secretary*, the shoes translate the visual language of the office into structure and mechanism. Developed through 3D modelling and additive manufacturing, they feature a 3D-printed stainless-steel heel inspired by the paper clip, which becomes the structural core of the shoe while the upper and sole are attached with screws. The modular construction allows the components to be removed, replaced and reconfigured, turning a familiar office object into a new system for building footwear.
