About

Womenswear designer based in London.Kingston University BA Fashion graduate. In my practice I strive to create bespoke leather garments and accessories that are inspired by the concept of Afro-futurism and my own aesthetic. I draw from traditional beadwork research and fuse it with metal beads to create a fresh approach to embellishment. I juxtapose classic silhouette with futuristic shoulder and surface textiles such as laser engraving, print and embellishment on leather. I also enjoy creating metal-embellished accessories, shoes and jewellery with a futuristic look inspired by African tribes.

The collection "Black From The Future" is a manifestation of my profound inspiration drawn from the concept of "Afro-futurism." As an artist, I aspire to offer my own interpretation of how I perceive the future, weaving together traditional beadwork and metal beads inspired by the Omo Valley Tribes' adornments. With this collection, I embark on a journey to explore uncharted territories, discovering novel ways of creating a new visual idiom that is both daring and inventive. My creative process has been shaped by extensive research and exploration for perfect silhouettes that pave the way for experimentation. Through laser engraving, print development, and surface embellishment on leather, I strive to craft bespoke leather garments that are a testament to my artistic vision. The collection is not merely a manifestation of my passion for fashion, but also a celebration of the intricate beauty of African culture and the timeless allure of futurism.
