Mina Piao is a Korean-American fashion designer specializing in knitwear. Originally from Long Island, New York, with a degree in economics froM Northwestern University, Mina decided to leave a career in blockchain consulting and pursue her lifelong dream of being a fashion designer. Her work centers around social issues, taking an experimental approach to develop a visual language to represent her ideas. Aiming to use fashion as a vehicle for change, Mina takes inspiration from her heritage and faith, authors, activists and artists she admires, as well as designers like Bethany Williams and organizations like Custom Collaborative and Blue Tin Production. She is particularly interested in the sustainable capabilities of knitwear, as well as biodegradable materials.
