About
I am a fashion designer from Indonesia with a strong interest in storytelling and culture. Growing up surrounded by Indonesian traditions and crafts shaped how I see fashion not only as clothing but also as a language to express identity. My design process often plays with textiles, colors, and textures, from reinterpreting batik motifs to using denim as a blank canvas, combining techniques to create more depth and meaning. Fashion, to me, is a way to weave personal stories and emotions while exploring more responsible approaches to design.
This collection reflects my Chinese-Indonesian identity and the collective memories passed down through my family. It explores both joyful and painful histories: childhood memories like white rabbit candy, and darker moments from my country’s past. Origami birds are used as a symbolic form to honor the victims of these dark past. Through layers, textures, and a variety of textile manipulations, the designs translate memory into garments that carry depth, emotion, and meaning. The collection also draws from Peranakan heritage, subtly integrating traditional Chinese and Indonesian clothing elements such as the cheongsam, kebaya, and batik into silhouettes and details.
