Malena Piquemal Omedes is a French and Spanish fashion designer from Barcelona and a recent Fashion Design grad at SCAD. Working across menswear and womenswear, she focuses on leather manipulation and craftsmanship, pushing a timeless material through technique and transformation. Her work is driven by precision, and detail, combining classic foundations with a modern perspective, with tailoring at its core.
Tilting at Windmills is a FW menswear and womenswear outerwear collection inspired by Miguel de Cervantes’ book, Don Quixote. Drawing from the landscapes of Castilla-La Mancha, the collection explores the extraordinary within the familiar through oversized, structured silhouettes and a reinterpretation of classic tailoring. References to Mudejar architecture appear through leather manipulation, such as laser cutting. Crafted from merino wool, genuine lambskin, and cowhide leather, the collection emphasizes durability, texture, and material quality. Designed for young adults with old-world taste, hidden details invite a closer look, reminding us that nothing is quite what it seems at first glance.
