I’m a contemporary jewellery artist from Saudi Arabia. I see jewellery as a form of storytelling, exploring identity, belonging, and cultural memory through material and making. My material-led practice is driven by curiosity and experimentation, allowing materials to guide the process and reveal unexpected narratives. I’m interested in transforming overlooked materials into objects that carry new forms of meaning, value, and connection.
My practice is material-led, where making operates as a form of inquiry. I investigate value and preciousness in contemporary jewellery through the transformation of date pits, a material embedded in Saudi Arabia’s cultural and economic identity yet consistently discarded. I examine how value is shaped and what remains unseen or disregarded. Through carving, casting, and heat-controlled colour processing, I work with date pits from my father’s farm to explore their structural and aesthetic potential. Through experimentation, the material reveals unexpected qualities, shifting its status from waste into a reconsidered and revalued material for contemporary jewellery.
