About
Maddie is a London-based 2D animator and illustrator. She completed her MA in Character Animation at Central Saint Martins, after a BFA in Illustration at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
Her work explores themes of nature, animals, folklore, and neurodiversity through emotionally driven storytelling and hand-crafted visual worlds.
Her first year film Citrus Cyclops has received multiple awards and has been accepted into BAFTA-qualifying festivals.
"Did You Catch a Hare?" is a Central Saint Martins MA Character Animation 2026 grad film. It's a short, fully hand-drawn animated film that follows a young girl who interprets the world around her very literally. Inspired by a misunderstanding of a phrase, the story explores overthinking, internalising, and the way unresolved feelings can quietly grow over time. Blending surreal imagery with emotionally grounded storytelling, the film visualises spiraling thoughts and the process of assigning meaning to something ultimately neutral. "Did You Catch a Hare?" premiered at the BFI Southbank on June 18th 2026 as part of the MACA graduate showcase.
